A Vision That Started in 1993
In 1993, Dr. Kulin Kothari started Vision Foundation of India with a simple conviction: no one should lose their sight because treatment is out of reach. What began as a response to curable blindness grew into a community eye-care movement that could travel to where the need was greatest.
From the beginning, the focus was clear: reach people who are often left out of quality care, and make treatment possible through camps, partner hospitals, and sustained local presence. Over time, this work expanded across rural and urban India, guided by one principle that still holds steady today: financial hardship should never stand between a person and their sight.
We uphold equality and mutual respect
by treating every patient with clarity, dignity, and the same standard of care we would want for our own families.
